About
ECHOES ATX is a community-led arts and cultural initiative bringing artists, neighbors, and cultural workers together to tell stories about the people, places, and movements that have shaped Black and Hispanic Austin. Through exhibitions, community archives, artist collaborations, and public gatherings, we make room for histories that are often overlooked or left out of the city's changing landscape. Our work is rooted in collective memory, self-representation, and the belief that communities should have the opportunity to tell their own stories. Our second exhibition, *In Living Memory*, opens November 13, 2026, at the George Washington Carver Museum. Bringing together ten artists working across photography, film, installation, and archives, the exhibition explores what we inherit, what we preserve, and what we carry forward. ECHOES believes art should be accessible, grounded in community, and made possible through collaboration. We welcome volunteers who want to support local artists, engage with Austin's cultural histories, and help make these spaces available to everyone. ECHOES ATX is fiscally sponsored by Future Front Texas, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
